Stand alone ECU

Im looking for a great stand alone ecu for my fc, can you use a apexi power fc for an s5 rx7?? because it would be soo much easier to tune fuel and boost all from the fc commander than getting like a f-con or a haltech and having to buy boost and fuel controllers completely seperately right?

well to my knowledge the apexi power FC is for the FD, it could be made to work in an S5, but that Im not sure of.

I'd definetly find that out before too much more consideration given that the PFC might not be an option...

edit:

You might have better luck in the EMS section...

it CAN be done - there are a few in the UK running it - but its a major hack of the wiring loom

just think of the FC as a single turbo'd FD

Doesn't apexi make one for the FC? I thought I saw it on some jdm site before?

Look into the megasquirt. There is a subforum for it on this site.

Can you use a Apexi AVC or the HKS boost controller with the microtech?

I'd say go with the haltech, very easy to setup and tune. I'm currently running it on my S5 T2 motor.

AP Engineering does the reflash so that this can work.

I don't think the Power FC is able to control boost without the optional boost controller?

To tell you the truth, I'd rather have a stand-alone EBC.

I don't know your background, but how well do you know these systems?
The Haltech blows the door off the Power FC in terms of raw specs.
