Stall/Left turns

I remember this being talked about, but did it ever come to a conclusion of what causes the cut on hard lefts? Engine stays running and all, just dies to idle (i guess). I am trying to get this thing track worthy .

friend had this problem, turned out to be the fuel pump filter, like the in tank one that no one ever changes. Good way to check, hook up a pressure gauge right at the pump, just pull up the carpet in the hatch, it's right there. Have your buddy watch it while you drive. Also hook up a fluke meter to the points on the pump to check voltage.

I have this same problem in my '89. I pulled the fuel pump filter off completly, and it still does it (Though not as bad)

Josepi, you're lucky. Mine dies completly.

Its gotta be somthing with the pump and not fuel slosh cause it'll still do it with a full tank.

I figure if I hook up a volt-meter to the leads, it should tell if its an electric problem or not, just haven't gotten to it yet.

Anyone else have/fix this problem on their 7s?

I had that problem on hard left turns in the city. Eventually I found it to be the in-tank filter. When I lifted it out, the mesh filter was full of fuel and hardly leaking out of the mesh. I emersed it in laquer thinner for a nite and reinstalled it and have had no problem since. Others did not have the same results. Prior to changing filters I put in a pump off the other car, and had no problem. Thats how I isolated it down to the filter on the pump. Some kinda clear laquer, hard to see stuff was clogging the mesh.

mine stalls out if I do lots of dognuts....that doesn't look right....doughnuts maybe...hell I can't spell. Anyway, it stalls in that case after about the 3rd rotation and it also stalls if I do a 180 or 360 at over 30MPH. Maybe I'll check my filters and pump too.
