Stacee- Linguo415s 89 Turbo build
Whats up everyone? Im starting a build thread for my 89 turbo. Its the first turbo FC ive ever owned. Im curretly waiting for my new engine to be delivered so I can drop it in with my boy.
Ive started this thread because I will have lots of questions as I go and it would be nice to get some advice and opinions as I progress with the build. I plan on later rebuilding the current blown engine that sits i the car now. I also will be swapping out the blue and grey interior it has for all black. So nothing too crazy at the moment.
Ill post pics as I go.
Just thought it would be fun.

When I took out the turbo and cleaned and ported the waste gate. You ca fit a quarter through the bigger port. I only boost to 5psi now. Nothing too crazy going on right now. Just basic reliablilty mods at the moment. youve gotta start somewhere right?
I plan on goin with a halteck p1000 in the future and upgrading injectors. I have a supra fuel pump ready to be put in already.

OHHH s6 rotors. Fancy -_- /jealous. AHAHA BTW I decided to not trade for the s14. After that drive we took in my FC, I decided to continue with it. I hadn't boosted like that in a while. Remember If you got questions i'm only a few blocks away.

Thanks guys. I went with these parts with longevity in mind. Ofcourse it's all about tuning in the end but I believe it'd good to have a good base to start with also. I think it's a little bit of an over build because this engine will be able to flow about 500hp with a full stand alone and all the extra boost goods. I only plan on getting to about 350 or so if that. After riding in xeccentrics fc the other day I may be happy with very minor upgrades. It's plenty fast and responsive. As far as who built my new engine it's RX7 specialties in Canada. I know I know why so far. It worked out real well for this build. I'll be taking the old engine out of the bay tomorrow and taking pics also. I've never done this before but I have my fsm on hand. On hand. So here we go.

So Ive started transferring parts over from the old block onto my new one and I have a question now. i know that on the crank angle sensor the dimple has to line up with the protrusion, but how do i make sure it stays that way when I install it in the socket? I did it like 10 times and i would pull it out to see if it stayed in place but it wouldnt. What do I do?

Haha. K-tune called it. This has been covered. But, to make sure it keeps still, unscrew the two screws on top of the CAS and the rubber piece on the gear will point to the lower left end, lining up to a square piece. When its done correctly, the lower gear and dimple should match.

Ha. I figured I had to open it up. I was just afraid of messing the cas up. Thanks for the info. I was bound to ask something at some point I guess.
I did my timing though. It was a little tricky with the RB crank puley but I got it done.
