ss brakelines

Hey, I have single pot brakelines and 4 pot calipers.. is there any way to use the lines via adapter OR would the front lines be ok to connect to the hardline on the caliper? I think the only problem then it the line would be longer and may rub on the tire or kink. Also that nut in the center would just hang there.

1 pot

4 pot

Anyone want to trade? my 1pot set for your 4 pot I'll pay a difference. But I believe the price is usually the same between the two

Thanks.

Well.. actually now that I reread the corksport page apparently I have the correct lines. So I guess my pictures are backwards.. anyway if someone has an installed picture please post.

when i swapped to 4 pot calipers, i ordered brake lines for 4 pot calipers, from my setup, the 4 pot calipers have a hardline that goes to the shorter brake lines.. http://i33.tinypic.com/98r2it.jpg Id go with teh single pot caliper brake lines so you could avoid the hardline setup. This car is over-engineered imo.

Yes, the pics are mislabeled although it's weird that the 4-pot lines have that extraneous fitting floating on the hose.

I agree...the extra hardline is silly.
The longer single piston caliper lines are much nicer IMO.

Ok. I'll mount these and take pictures and see if you guys will think there is too much bend or if it may get into the tire.

ok here are the pictures.

The caliper's hardline can not be removed as the caliper is female and so is the line. so the ss line has to just replace the rubber line. But by doing that the line is quite long and has the nut just hanging there.. So should I get a smaller caliper hardline made?

What you have is the single piston lines, if you want to eliminate the hard line you need the 4 piston lines

That's backwards.
The single piston lines have one male end that screws into the caliper and one female that takes the hardline coming through the wheelwell.
The four piston lines have two female ends.

That's a weird hose you've got there...seems too long and has a useless fitting floating on it.

I was mostly posting this while I was talking to corksport. so they could see what I was talking about.

While maybe too long yes.. I don't know how long Corksport's is but it's basically the same (from what we could tell) every other way. It's on my car now and the brakes are very firm. I plan on continuing to check them to check for any signs of them breaking. If something ever comes up I'll get the single piston lines if they are long enough to eliminate the caliper hard line.

/thread

oh yeah.. and even corksport's lines has the odd nut in the center. He said that it's just there from the manufacture like that. So my guess is it's basically used in many different apps. I could add a holder for it probably..
