maybe the linkage to the retractor motor..and it should be ok to spray..figuring since the motors ARE under the car and not exactly hidden from the elements..the linkages are like a ball and cup sort of affair

just give the joints a hosing with WD-40, liquid wrench, PB blaster. I did it when I got my car cause a light was stuck and it didn't hurt anything.

WD-40 is the birth of satin! Do not use it! You should never use it actually! It is a degreaser your headlights are stuck or squeaking b/c they have worn all the grease from the joints. So why does everyone’s logic spray degreaser on them?

Use a lube like chain wax at least, or Teflon spray or even wipe some grease on the joints.

If I see another person spray WD-40 on a squeaking door in a parking lot, I am going to walk up and pimp slap there mother.

Spray WD-40 on them.

LOL....jk iceblue. We used this graphite stuff on 200+lb doors at the hospital. I can't remember the proper name, we just called it graphite. Its a dry lubricant.

both of my headlights stopped retracting at the exact same time, I don't know why it seems very unlikley that both of them got to gunked up at the exact same moment.
