Ive tried everything to get this screw out without damaging it but the more things I try the worse it gets. Its not stripped but its getting there pretty quick any suggestions?

Which screw is it?

I'd go for the vise grip pliers.

Well. Get a dremel or something and cut your own deep slot to help undo it.

You can't really use vice grips because it is a small screw on the end of a pillar.

Go to Sears and get a Screw-Out extractor set. They work well for stuff like this. You drill out the stripped middle of the screw, and then the extractor pulls it out:

You can get cheaper versions at other stores like this:

If buying tools is not possible - then soak it in relasing fluid, and add heat.

Worst case is that uou have to drill it out and retap the hole.

Use lots of penetrant.
I like to use a smal vice grips to grip the head and twist to loosen.
Sometimes it helps to file down two opposite sides so the vice grip has a better time gripping the screw head.
A torch can help with very stubborn screws too.

Ted's been there.
I've been known to dress the tips of my vise grips to get a bite on a screw head.
The last one was on the fuel pump pickup strainer.

dont file down the sides to use vice grips I just clamp them on so hard it bends the screw head to a flat surface
