speedometer cable to tranny speed sensor Qs

hey guys !
Im abit stuck here, my speedo meter doesnt work. ,My speedometer cable is hooked up from the dash cluster to the speed sensor in the tranny, I unbolted the cable from the speed sensor, and in between there is nothing. What part goes between the speedo cable and the speed sensor behind the drive gear from the tranny? Does anyone have picture or diagram references? I think I might be missing a small part in between the speed sensor and cable, something that connects the two together to spin.. I need pics...or what the part is called..

help is appreciated thanks !

Speedo cable should insert into the drive gear shaft.

Let's all go out to our cars, jack 'em up, take a picture of the inner drive cable and post it. You'all first, I'm right behind you. Hold your breath.
