Unhappy Speed Limit 100mph

My 87 na can not go any faster than
100mph

its gets there pretty quick but then i
shift into 5th and it just freezes at
4 grand and 100 mph
thats fast enough for me but
this is a problem right?

What is wrong with my car is it
something major or is this just
how it is.????

Don't put it in 5th. Redline it in 4th first.

Open up the exhaust (gut cats - new exaust), open up the intake.. I get 120+ out of mine pretty easy, and that's all I've done to it.

I've once had a similar problem with my 90 GXL. The problem was caused by the cat partially restricting the exhaust flow. If the cats are still on your car, than this is one of the first places that I would look.

Write down what your tire sizes are and the rpm you were at when at 100mph. Theres something elso going on here.

If you're redlining 4th gear you should be @122mph...
