Speed Delimiting

Hi guys, what is the best way to get rid of the speed limiter in these cars? As I can't find any speed signal @ ECU.. which means I can't use an RSM.

It's in the instrument cluster I believe. Lemme look it up.

Wouldn't the removal of this screw disable the speed sensitive power steering system? Is this the same signal taken by the power steering???

jspec models at 180km (112mph), aspec don't have a speed limiter.

and before you think you've got a jspec, you're probably just hitting fuel cut.

Mine is a Jspec car with the limiter.. My only concern is having light steering weight during high speed corners...

...what...sure

There is a screw you remove on the gauge cluster and it removes the speed limiter. There should be a thread about it in the FAQ.

Doing this has no effect on the power steering. It does not affect the speed sensor signal to the power steering, cruise control and AAS controllers, it only affects the 180km/h switch in the cluster that's connected to the ECU.

U sure about that?? I met some random rx7 guy and apparently his steering felt way light at high speed.. Gonna try it myself

I've went through the FSM but couldnt make sense of the single line diagram they provided.

There will be more than 1 screw you can remove, ONLY remove the one for the speed limit and nothing else will change, remove the other one and you'll effect the power steering above 80km/h

Yes I am. I have disabled the speed limiter on my car, and the power steering and cruise control still work fine.

The online FSM's are for US models, which didn't have speed limiters.

Yep, it's the screw with "180" written next to it. Remove it and you're good to go.
