DONT GET SONY. they have built in distortion.
Soundstream makes some GREAT stuff. I've just bought my first none soundstream amps. ( xtant 1.1s for my vert. they are very small and the vert has no extra space). Ive used the soundstreams for up to 15 years(still going) it still sounds great, runs well and is obviously very long lived. I have two others that I'm not using at the moment but I won't sell them becaus the still work too well. I have owned sony amps and they where fine for the money, but those where from the 90s when sony was worth a ****. Now I won't buy any of there stuff.

Speakers you have to listen to before you buy them, make sure you can return them if you don't like them after you have used them in your car. As i posted here last year (zombie post, kill it, kill it!!) I beleave the the quarts are the best right now. I love my baston acoustics. The are the pro series I have the 4.2s, 5.4s and 6.4s, I would use the 5.0s or the 6.0s Pro series as well, but everything they have put out since then is crap-o-la. Same for the other major players, alpine, sony, pioneer. At first the japenise(sp) were making them, then korea for a few years, now, china. What was the last nice thing you bought from china?

Position is important too. The rears are in a perfect place, and you can fit up to a 8' mid-bass in there if you seal it with fiberglass. Mine are the 4.2s with the tweets mounted so they cross fire right into the headrests. The front's in the S5s are in a good location, good but not great, but the S4 locations suck. 4 inch under the dash is great for your ***** to hear music but not for your ears. Same with the 5-1/4 door mount. Fires right at my gut.

Good solution is to cut a spot in your door that puts them "in" the map pocket. Better is to use a manuall window panel and build a pod for 6 1/2" Some day i'm going to get a manual panel and give that a shot. Or i'm just going to put in s5 doors. about the same amount of work. grey interior was never used in the s5
The best would be kick panel pods. Unfortunatly we cant do that because of the "foot brace" and more importantly the fuse panel.
