Spark plugs firing when key turned on?

On some cold starts, when i turn the ignition to On (not starting the engine) I get a loud pop. it seems like the spark plugs are firing and igniting a small fuel mixture. The last time, it popped off some vacuum caps. Has anyone had this happen and if so what fixed/caused this?

The CAS would have to be turning to signal the ignition coils and injectors to operate. I don't know what could be happening honestly.

Mine used to do it when I was running an old Haltech E6X.

I guess so? Dont really know, but if both of ours did it, probably. Where did you buy it?

Yeah, it is. Depending on rotor position, it can sometimes kick the motor backwards a bit.

That's a crappy ECU bug to have, and makes me wonder how many engines have been blown up on the E6X because of it. If it's firing spark plugs when it's NEVER supposed to, how can you trust it to fire the plugs in accordance with the timing map you tuned into it while the car is running?
