Question Spark Plugs

hello

how do you get to the spark plugs of my 86 NA

I know where they are located but how do you take them out?!

I took out the little individual things that carry the spark plugs but i dont understand how to get them out.

Thank you

you can buy the exact socket, I'll find out what size it is, but they make the sockets to reach the bolt part on the spark plugs

Yes, it's 13/16th. I would suggest buying one with the rubber insert inside. It will be easier to use for a first timer.

If your plugs are recessed into the housing like in this picture, you will need a thin walled socket to get them out. If they are not recessed, then you just need a regular deep well spark plug socket and unscrew the spark plug.

man i am lost

i cant even see my sparkplugs. I hook out this little cartridge where my wires were connected to and then disconnected the wire and all i see is this little copper dot in the cartridge...i think it is part of the cartridge. Then i am lookin for anyway to open the cartridge to get to my sparkplugs but i dont see any screws or clamps or anything.

Thanks for the help though.

Are the sparkplug wires set up differently on mine?

I'm sure I'm not the only one thinking this, so - what cartridge are you refering to? The coils themselves, that are mounted to the body? Those aren't the spark plugs. Spark plugs are in the rotor housings, driver's side.

There are two coil packs in your engine bay. One near the left headlight and one at the top left near the windshield. Follow the spark plug wires and you will find where the spark plugs are. They are also near the oil dip stick deeper down.

Huh, ditto! May I suggest studying the FSM before you lay one hand on your car
