spark plug WIRES... gains?

hey guys i was thinking that its about time to upgrade my sparkplug wires... they look very old and are probably the original spark plugs that came on the car in 1991 (and yes, with 166k miles on them )

the car seems to run fine now, pulls great. do you all think i would notice any difference if i got some nice 8mm race wires?

He he, i was just about to post the same thing, looked under the hood tonight and it looked like the fourth of july. The wires were arcing at the plug boots to the outside of the spark plug. If anything you'll get a littlebit smoother idle. I was thinking of magnecor wires, but i'd like to find a set of 10mm wires for the added protection, does anyone make any for the second gen? thanks

no HP gain from replacing the plug wires, however the car may start running like it was supposed too

The wires will help out a lot with throttle response I assume, you will probably have a stronger spark. But the car will run a lot better, I just changed the 18 year old 130K mile plug wires on the benz last week and it ran so much better!

Magnacore makes some 10 mm for only $50 some places, im getting some soon. Im still using the wires that came with my car, i think their from a first gen, cause their way too long.

You'll notice that your car will idle smoother and run a bit smoother probably. No HP gains really from plug wires. I had some stock NGK wires on my car and then recently swapped on some MSD 8.5mm wires and I noticed that my car idles smoother now and runs a little smoother as well. Not any faster though.

Well, at 5HP a sticker, 11HP means it comes with 2 and a quarter stickers!

uhm, Summit and JEGS will have them.
I don't know if there are any local JEGS or Summit stores, but there's one in Columbus, Ohio, I believe. a JEGS that is.
