Their diagram is BS. You would have to cut up the steel behind the headlight and always have the headlight up with no FTP for it to work.

You would have to cut the steel, and remove the lense, but thats it. It will still get fresh air, it just won't be ram air, like that even matter.

Air takes the path of least resistance. Without the headlight up and the car in motion the air wouldn' be forced into the intake. Given that it is not a sealed design it is worthless at a low speed and with the headlight down. That being covered it would just suck in hot air most of the time.

It will provide little if any Ram Air effect. But it will allow the engine to breathe in fresh air, well it would do a much better job if it was actually a sealed setup. The engine sucks in air, and if the only air it can get is from outside, then it will work.

Hot air would go in thought there. a non sealed intake that is supposed to provide cool air from outside can't do so if it isn't sealed up. Why doo you think the snorkel setup that came stock is sealed up right untill the end of the snorkel.

Yes it would suck some air from the engine bay in, but like you said earlier MOVING air takes the path of least resistance, so if there is air moving from underneath the headlight, the intake will suck it in because it is directly in its path. Also like you said air take the path of least resistance, so what is easier, sucking air straight ahead, or sucking air from the side and all the way behind. Quit knocking other people's products just to try and boost your own.

It will provide alot of cold air from the outside, the design isnt perfect though because it isn't sealed. But it will provide fresh air from the outside.

I guess I just don't like cutting. thats why I am having trouble while thinking about a front mount intercooler for my Turbo. Most of the kits out there involve cutting of the sheet metal which I generally don't like.

The point of it is that the cooler you start off the cooler you will end up.

Even if you removed an FTP lense (looks like crap) and then cut a bunch of metal behind the headlight, you're still going to get very little airflow being pushed into it. Air will not flow in the hole in the nose, around the headlight and into the hole you've cut, because it's alot easier for the air simply flow around inside the nose cone and get out somewhere else.

As mentioned, air follows the path of least resistance. If you want air to flow somewhere you have to give it no other option. In this case that doesn't happen.

If that scoop sealed up against the front bulhead better, and there was a decent-sized hole in front of it (the bigger the better) then it would suck air in from outside the engine bay, which is a good thing. There're be no need (and little gain) from removing the FTP lense.

It's a lot of money for what it is though. It wouldn't work any better than a well-made DIY heat shield.

Actually colder intake air is even more important on a turbo motor, because the temp difference gets multiplied depending on how much boost is being run.
