Spark plug Wire Length
Spark plug Wire Length
I was changing out the spark plug wires off my 99 Ranger V6 3.0 when i accidentally put mix-match length wires on the truck. needless although the EDIs function was correctly place on their cylinder heads.. the different sizes of the wires lead to incorrect spark timming. needless to say the truck ran like crap engine kept shaking violantly.. and so on.. well i fixed it by matching the right wire length per cylinder head. i was thinking about how the length of the wire can affect the timming and spark of the piston engine and realize the same concept can be adapted to our rotary engines.
Should a person actually mix match the length of the wire the who car itself would im not saying incorrectly putting the wires on but rather putting a different length on a wire that is not designed for.
I remember changening out my spark plugs wires awhile back in my Fc with some NGK's. I do remember replaceing them but i don't remember if i sized up the correct legth for the leading or tailing and front or rear.. so does anyone have experiance with mix matching the wires or is there a correct way to go about for the spark plug length?

That's pure bullshit.
V8 spark plug wires are not all one length.
What you experienced has to be wrong placement of the spark plug wires, not the spark plug wire lengths.
The difference has got to be on the order of nanoseconds.
10^(-9).
