Spark plug types

Do certain types of spark plugs really matter? Plattinum vs copper ect?

I just got platinum from napa. Seem like a more conductive metal. Probably get a better spark. No clue though just a thought

in a stock car it doesn't seem to matter, but if for instance you switch fuels it might. methanol reacts to platinum, so they shouldn't be used together

Leading is the bottom hole. Trailing is the top one. Each hole has a L or a T next to it.

In case you are unfamiliar with the two spark plug per chamber system used with our engines, I suggest this animation to clear things up:

http://www.rotaryengineillustrated.c...imation-2.html

As stated before, trailing is top, leading is bottom (or lower - easiest way to remember T with t, L with l). Notice the leading wasted spark after the main ignition event. Both chamber's leading plugs always fire at the same time.

Cool... Thanks for the insight.... When I saw these on the car i assumed they meant top & lower.... So the two different types of spark plugs are still recomended on a stock engine or is it a waste of time?

The two different plug types are recommended for stock engines. There may be scenarios with highly modified engines and race setups where people will run a different heat range, but BUR7EQ and BUR9EQ are recommended for most setups.

if they say they can't get them tell them to learn how to submit an order form. your parts people are lazy *****.

and don't bother with platinum versions even in NGK of the stock plugs, they can be more problematic than the simple copper core plugs.

You can always order them off a internet website. Advance auto should be able to get them for you. That was where I got mine along with new NGK wires. They were a special order if I remember right.
