Spark knock in 5th gear
I finally finished my jspec s5 install in my 10AE. I took it for a quick drive and it is spark knocking in 5th. It also seems like it is doing it right at start up. Is it possible that the fuel pump resistor relay would cause it?? When I blew my last engine it was making some weird clicking noises and it was really hot. maybe it was the cause of my last disaster. I am going to rewire the fuel pump tomorrow. I always run high test fuel so I know that is not the problem.
Any ideas what the problem could be?
I checked the timing and it is bang on. I am getting really frustrated with this car now.ARRRRRGHHHH

I also have a quick question, when I rewire my pump is it necessary to still use the factory resitor relay? I am not sure if mine is working properly.

Don't be embarrassed - I've done it.

Car is working great now. Idle is smooth, timing is bang on. I am very pleased with how the s5 jspec is working. It feels as strong at 6 psi as it was at 10psi on my previous s4 engine. Now i am waiting for my RB exhaust.
Thanks again guys for all the help.
