nope, as stated the flywheel sits on the tapered eccentric shaft, the key has to go on first since the groove it sits in is located past the threaded portion of the shaft.

well i got my hands on an 87 flywheel and tonight i took my tranny out and found that the key was ok...i removed the 89 flywheel and placed the 87 flywheel on and it sat in nice on the shaft.got it put parcialy together and went to see if it would turn over and got only clicks..soo tomarrow im going to get my starter rebuilt and hopefully its ready in time for friday night!


kinda still wondering why the 89 wheel caused it to get stuck?

oh man you wont believe this **** i forgot to put on the transmission ground the one that goes to the chassis ....wel she fired up with some help from cold starting fluid and i took her for a spin and wow im really suprised! im soo happy thanks for your help guys couldnt done it without you

ps:ill get some new pics up soon.
