source for turbo oil

ok I will be doing my turbo soon and I was thinkin about sources for the feed for the turbo...I know I can get a front cover from a TII and I know Cake took a feed outta the oil cooler. My buddy and I were thinkin. Could we get a relocation kit for the oil filter and take a feed from there?? or would it be to hot and if so can we put a super small cooler from like a bike inbetween the filter and turbo?? Or would that be robbing the engine?? I'm planning on dumping it in the pan like Cake did..thx

you could just get an aftermarket oil filter pedestal that has tapped holes on the pressure side. they usually come with 2 feed ports, 1 for a turbo feed and the second for a aftermarket and more accurate oil pressure or temp gauge. I have a new RB pedestal that I'm not using, if you want it give me an offer.

on my 6 port setup, I tapped the head of one of the oil cooler banjo bolts and installed appropriate fittings, seems to work fairly well

If you have to ask about a Megasquirt, don't do it. It requires siginficant DIY work and electronics knowledge.

The link I just posted is new. Only added it on Tuesday.

The Megasquirt is a joy to tune. It's getting it to work in the first place that's a royal pain in the butt.

As far as I know, the S-AFC will not work on the GSL-SE EFI system because the AFM is referenced by 12V. The S-AFC needs 5V.

If you want to be crude, bigger secondaries and a rising rate fuel pressure regulator. If you want to do things properly, full standalone.

BTW replaceing the front cover is not for the oil feed, it is for the return....

FYI.

No. The reference voltage is provided by the ECU. To use the S-AFC, you would have to convert to S4 or S5 EFI.

Looking at a project from primarily a cost standpoint is a sure way to make it fail.

The Megasquirt is a capable ECU, but it requires KNOWLEDGE and SKILL to get going. Read the Megasquirt FAQ in the 'Squirt section and then you will have a better idea of what is required.

Assuming you know how to tune, the actual tuning of the 'Squirt is a joy. Very straightforward.
