something wrong with this picture?

I have these housings and irons lined up next to each other in my garage. I can't help but think something doesn't look right. This is an s4 tII motor BTW.

Sorry for the large image

Looks like S5 irons and S4 irons mixed. Check out the port air inlets. Looks like the housings are different too...

That rear iron is NOT an FC iron. Looks like a 1gen iron of some sort to me. The port is clearly smaller and does not line up with the others, and the bolt pattern for the intake is also different.

The rest looks fine.

Also the rear iron doesn't have the nipple on top. So what do you think it is? Does anyone have a picture of a s4 rear iron. So when I tell this guy he sold me the wrong parts. I have something to show him?

I drew two parallel lines on the attached jpg to highligh the difference in the intake holes b/t front and rear.

I also painted in GREEN where the manifold attach hole SHOULD be and highlighted where it presently is (and shouldn't be).

Just try to attach your intake manifold to the engine. That Blue/Green hole ain't a gonna be there on the manifold.

The height of the intake hole on a series four turbo should be 1.640" or 41.64mm.

Yeah, the problem with the housings (bought from the same seller) is they have different plug placements.

The water nipple on the top rear side housing is to feed water from there to the throttle body........then to the BAC and from there to return to a nipple on the back of the water pump housing. Water at the throttle body is to make the thermowax work and water at the BAC is to maintain a temp above freezing and or just a more constant temperature (half *** answer that's at least half right).

Another clue is the small rectangular hole below the intake hole on the rear side housing. In short *It ain't thar*. It should look like the front side housing where you see the small rectangular hole below the intake hole.

Sounds like someone sold you his spare junk. He knew what he was doing. It wasn't any accident/oversight. Shoot 'em.
