something wierd and "unheard of" happened to my car today

ok so heres what happened.

i have a 1989 gtus

i went to the movie theaters to watch 40 year old virgin. at the parking lot, i unpluged the battery so my alarm wont go off. after the 2 hour movie i came back, started the car and exited the parking lot with no problems. i stopped at the red light. put it in neutral, put in my deck. preparing to enter the freeway. when it was green, i had trouble shifting it to first gear, (like i tried to push it into gear but it wont go nowhere). finally i got it to first gear with a bit of force. then i couldnt get it to second gear no more. so then i pulled over to the shoulder of the freeway.

i turned off my car, and found that i can shift gears again. when i started the car, i cant shift it into any gear.

once again i turned off my car, shift it to first gear while the car was off and tried to turn on the car again. my car wouldnt start.
i called my frend who was a mechanic and he said this was almost unheard of. he told me to let go of the brakes and put the e-brakes down. i did that and my car rolled forward and started. w00t!. but i still cant shift gears. infact, after about 5 minutes, the car died. and i couldnt start the car anymore. wtf?? happened?

so i was thinking maybe my car is out of batteries...cuz i unplugged it wen i went to watch the movies. so i called a frend to help me jump the car. i still cant start the car.

last hope before calling a tow truck. i called my frend who owns a FC and FD. he arrived. checked and told me i had no pressure in my clutch. he jumped in my car and told me and my frends to push the car. my car started and the clutch works and has pressure again. what the hell??

I would suspect your clutch and prepare to replace it.

sounds like air in the line bleed the system and refill dot3 brake fluid that should fix the problem.

The problem you're seeing is that the clutch isn't disengaging fully. Either the hydraulics are failing (rebuild/replace), or the pilot bearing is failing (same effect - the engine & transmission input shaft are bound together).

Thaaaat or... the random *** thing that happened to me... A piece of clutch actually broke and prevented it from engaging... so there was a little piece floating around in there. It did some weird shifting things for a while... just like yours did. And then it just stopped letting me move the shifter.
