New guy with some questions

Hey everyone, my name is Derek and I bought my 1987 RX7 at the begining of July. It had 117K miles and the guy I bought it from said the engine was rebuilt after 62K, not sure whether I can believe him, but it runs well. This is my first rotary powered vehicle.

I have been comming to this site and reading the archives in the 2nd gen forum since I bought it, and they have been extremely helpful. My question comes in as I tried doing the 5/6 auxillary port mod by tapping into the main air pump line. The only problem is it works fine up until the car hits 4000 rpm at that time I think some other valves open up in the extension manifold, but mostly the auxillary ports close up. I am just wondering if anyone else has encountered this, or if there is a better way to activate the auxillary ports. Any information will be especially helpful.
