Unhappy Someone read this that knows what there doing!!

The question I'm asking is where exactly is the wire hes talking about and what does it look like color wise!! I own a 1990 GXL S5 eng...Please Help

That's one way to do it, but it's still more work than you need to do. The fuel pump relay under the dash (which a fuel pump kill switch can be wired into) can be reached while sitting in the drivers seat. Just reach under and unplug it to disable the pump.

BTW, this isn't a "fix for flooding", it's simply an unflooding method. If you fix the cause of the flooding (usually dirty injectors), you won't need to unflood it...

one more thing

How many times should I let the engine turn before i stop turning the key I don't want to burn out my starters!!

Hmm....How many attempts should I try.. I took the EGI Fuse out and done that a couple times i had it started but i took my foot of the gas and it died there was alot of smoke coming out so im guessing its heavely flooded!

Once you get it running, KEEP IT GOING till the engine runs up to operating temp..

A "sprited" drive would probably be in order.

Thats the problem I got it started once and it won't do it again! heh the engine starts to skip a little more everytime i take the EGI fuse out and put it back in but i dunno if i should touch the gas and make it even more flooded!

push start it. Either get someone to pull the car around or push the vehicle while it's in gear to around 3000-4000rpm and see if she'll start, if it's only flooded it should fire up!

S5 OWNERS PAY ATTENTION!!

You do not need to fool with any plugs or switches or wiring on your car to prevent flooding. DO NOT.

ALl you have to do is FLOOR THE GAS PEDAL while cranking. THis produces the SAME result as unplugging the fuelpump...cuts fuel during cranking.

IT says so in your owners manual also.

Like I said above (that's my post you quoted), don't waste your time pulling your car apart looking for wires! Just find the relay under the steering column with a yellow plug (you can't miss it) and unplug it. That disables the fuel pump. Then hold the gas pedal to the floor and crank the engine for about 5-10sec (no more). The wide open throttles means the maximum amount of air is being pumped through the engine to clear out the excess fuel. Then reinstall the fuel pump relay plug and without touching the gas pedal try to start the engine.
If this doesn't work after a few attempts, give up before you flatten the battery. Plug the leading plugs (the lower ones) and squirt a little bit of AFT or oil into the plug hole. Reinstall the plugs and without touching the gas pedal try to start the engine. Unless the engine's really stuffed this usually works.

EDIT: Just noticed you have a Series 5! Like Kevin said, no mods are required for S5's, as the ECU can do the work for you. The ECU disables the injectors any time it sees a Start signal and WOT. Simply floor the gas pedal and crank for 5-10sec, then lift off the pedal. The engine should fire up.

If it only floods sometimes after starting & shutting off cold - thats normal. (Try not to shut it off cold.) If it floods after warmup & shutdown - your injectors are suspect..
