Talking Someone critique my write-up please

Yoo I wrote this for my dad, who will be doing the work of putting my S5 TII into my 86 GXL. It sucks, I want to do it but the Marine Corps has me in frickin missouri. (I'm from Vegas). Anywho theres some things missing like say to change the fuel pump to a T2 Spec or better but for the most part thats all things I took care of before I left. I also have a few questions for the do it yourselfers on here but first things first. Thanks for the help

project [almost] full race fc
basic steps for engine and drive train swap

1) The first step should be to replace the stock ECU with the turbo ECU supplied with my new engine.
-The stock ECU is located under the passenger side carpet where I keep the fire extinguisher. When you lift up the carpet ( pull from right kick panel) the ECU will be under an aluminum heat shield. After you take off the heat shield the ECU will be held down by 4 10mm bolts. You also need to unhook the 3 harness clips that are plugged into it. Don't worry about remember which clip goes where, they only fit in their respective slots.
- Place the turbo ECU in place of the stock one you took out. plug the two harnesses on the left side of the ECU in and don't worry about the big one on the right yet. After the ECU is bolted in you'll be done with it for now.
- Feed the big plug through the firewall enough to where you can pull it completely out of the engine bay. Since we aren't using anything off the stock engine just throw the harness over top of the engine and theres no need to disconnect it from the engine. Make sure the harness is removed from the starter and stuff.

2) Once the above steps are completed the engine is ready to be pulled. Using the cherry picker and a chain pull the engine/tranny at the same time. its not a hard process and shouldn't take but a few minutes. Make sure to unhook the drive shaft and the shifter from the interior. Also remove radiator and fan shroud! Also unbolt the oil cooler from the front of the car. The new engine has one attached not to mention the oil lines are nearly impossible to take off so it's just better to take the **** compeltey out and bolt in the new one with the engine. Kyle will know what I'm talking about.
- Once the engine is removed let me or kyle know and we'll get ahold of donald who is going to come pick it up. There are a few things I need off that engine including plug wires, intake filter and the piece that the intake filter is bolted to. It's an adapter plate thats bolted on to the air-flow sensor.
- mission acomplished aye aye sir. now that the engine bay is empty, pressure wash that beast clean. I don't care about the paint in there, I'd just like it to be clean.
- make sure you unbolt that engine from underneath the car, we no longer need the mounts it has.

3) While the new engine/tranny are out of the car, place the new mounts on the engine and tranny. The mounts came from MMR-Direct and they should be pretty solid urethane or something like that. Really stiff. Its easier the drop the engine in with the mounts on it rather than drop the engine onto the mounts bolted in the car.
- After the mounts are installed, hoist the engine/ tranny and drop it in the car. the tranny will need a jack under it when it gets into place. Line up the engine mounts to the corresponding holes in the subframe then bolt the the tranny up then tighten the engine mounts. Try to drop the engine in as along block so I don't have to buy new gaskets. There should be hooks on the engine and the only thing that you should take off should be the intercooler. (the radiator looking piece on top of the engine that says" turbo rotary with intercooler")
- Don't worry about hooking up the exhaust, I still need to buy a few pieces for it and get you the money to get it fitted but the turbo engine is much quieter than my engine so for starting purposes it can be started with out an exahust and it won't be excessivley loud.
- Same goes for the drive-shaft, I need to get you money to get it fitted. The piece that came with new engine has to be fitted on my driveshaft to make the conversion.

4) Now that the engine is bolted in, dig out the wiring harness for the turbo engine. I bought it recently so it shouldn't be hard to find. Find the end of the harness, there should be big plug, just like the one you pulled from my stock ECU.
- feed that plug through the firewall where you pulled the last plug out. Plug it in to the right side of the ECU.
- this is where kyle will especially come in handy haha , he's pretty good about knowing techinical aspects of the turbo engine. if you do this yourself dad, it's not too hard. I can find an online write-up about it.
- Hook up the wiring harness to the starter, its a separate harness that stays attached to the car.

5) Replace the radiator, fan shroud and bolt up the oil cooler where the stock one was.
-make sure the intake and all that **** is hooked up. The barrel like thing connected to the Apex'i intake is the Air flow sensor and it plugs into the wiring harness.
- for starting purposes, keep the hood off. With the top mount intercooler the turbo will run hot since there isn't a hoodscoop like kyle's rx7. Once I buy the piping for the front mount intercooler you'll have to run the piping from the turbo and the intake to the intercooler which will be mounted in front of the radiator. Once thats done the car will run fine without a vented hood.

Let me know what y'all think

IIRC if your going to use the s5 engine in a s4 you need to repalce all the wiring harness since they are not the same.
so you might want to wait to put the ECU in untell your done.

I dont know about the S5... but the S4 alternator wires for the N/A are in the emissions harness(passenger side harness) and the TII are in the engine harness(driver side harness), you might want to double check your S5 FSM wire diagrams

And yes the connectors used in the S5 are different then the S4

Ahhhh. I see. Well I know that clips on the alternater are different which isn't a problem, I'm concerned about the starter harness though, I wonder if that **** will be alright for the swap. hmmmmmm. In any case I doubt its an expensive harness compared to what I paid for the engine harness haha. Thanks alot, guys I really appreciate it
