some questions about 2nd gen RX7's

Hi, im new here and im looking into purchasing a 2nd gen rx7. I know very little about these cars and so i will need you guys to help me out alittle. If i do get one, it will soon become extremely modded, and i plan on putting 1000hp to the wheels. My question is, can these cars handle that much?? im not 100% sure but arent these cars unibody or frameless? if so, does anyone make frame connectors or some sort of chassis strenghthening mechanism for them? I know the rear differential will not beable to hold that much (atleast i dont think it could), so what could i do to make the differential able to handle this much power? would i have to narrow a 12-bolt chevy or 9" ford to make this possible? I plan on fabricating a Twin Turbo kit and hooking it up to a 6200cc small block chevy engine, and using either a 4-spd auto or 6-spd manual chevy transmission. My guess would be that in order for me to make all of this work, i am going to have to build a tube chassis and go from the ground up. Hopefully a few of you have an rx7 putting out numbers close to what i am expecting. If so, please tell me the chassis mods you have/plan on doing. Finally, do any of you know the curb weight of these cars, both convertible and hard top? thanks, Gene.

because it sounds like a kid who doesnt know what he's doing or getting into. Even with a chevy small block and superior fabrication skills, it'll take several thousand dollars to get it anywhere close to 1000 horse.

Street port 13B with a dual-stage 750hp shot NOS should do it.

It'll be cheaper than the $50,000 you're going to spend doing it your way.

Go away
