some odd turbo II question(s)

I'm reading up as much as possible on turbo's since I now have a T2 engine and whatnot for my 88 gtu. Most books on turbo applications/theory/etc are about piston engines. I ran across a few equations in one book and was wondering if they can be applied to the rotary as well (or if they need to be juggled/ have a constant added). Does anyone know what the estimated stock horsepower and torque of both s4 and s5 T2 engines would have, without the turbos' on? I'm thinking that, if it ran, it would have less that the same-year N/A because of the lower compression and all. Also, does anyone know detailed specs and info on the stock turbos'?

Thanks for any and all info, when I have read enough on turbo theory and everything, I think Ill do a cliff-note version and post it for everyone.

Estimated hp of a turbo car without a turbo. Obviously it wouldnt be the same as the NA because of lower compression ratio.

Ideas anyone?

well u can take an NA car and find an appr. hp gain from a boost level:
NA hp X (( boost/14.7)+1)= HP if it were 100% effiecient
of coarse it takes power to make power, im not sure how to use this backwards. I try but it doesnt seem right although maybe it is. Lets say a 200 hp car on half a bar would make 50% more power than it did in NA form so that would give it 200=x+(.5X) NA HP=133 of coarse it wouldnt be that efficient so you could guess maybe 145 hp without the turbo Ya
follow me?

its easy to think of it as a full bar(14.7 psi) should double the hp, but only using a boost is not taking many things especially flow into consideration but it gets you close as long as its a realistic setup. But remember this is not accurate and it is also not dealing with any parasitic effects

ok, thanks.... one equation i was working with is:

(bhp/cid psi) x (cid) x (boost + atm) = estimated hp after adding a turbo and necessary fuel requirements and where atm equals 14.7 psi as you mentioned
