I walked out to my car this evening and noticed the drivers door was ajar. I got to the car, and found my steering column all torn up, and the lock cylinder punched out. *******.

The best part though was I think my custom Anti-theft system prevented it from being driven off...

The clutch hose blew on the car about 3 weeks ago, and the car's just been sitting. I ordered a Stainless steel replacement from the RX-7 store, but the line is on backorder, and I've been waiting for the part ever since.

So, it looks like the only thing keeping some dickless SOB from driving around in my 7 was a backordered part. Kinda like good karma and bad karma all rolled into one.

What kind of moron steals a 13 year old car? My neighbors brand new lexus was in the next spot. Plus, I only had liability (which has since changed) so no insurance check either.

Anyway, I just needed to vent to those who will understand my frustration.

Also, if anyone has a complete lock set for an S-5 w/factory alarm, please PM me.

Holly mother. Dude that sucks. And, I am waiting on the same part. I think he should post what parts are backordered. I have a feeling I could not see this part for a long time. I believe on every order I have made from the store....there is always some delay.

Well it coud have been worse. I guess I'll chalk it up to a very unpleasant learning experience.

 

I use to install caar audio and alarms back in PR when I was in college. To bad I can't hook you up with a alarm, nor install it for you, due to warranty issues, BUT I can help you with the kill switch. If you don't know how to use a relay, let me know!

There are some closet thiefs in the rx-7 community, so I wouldn't post where you live or let anyone follow you home. I've heard of people trying to rip the TII hoods off of cars before.

 

Thanks for the heads-up. It sucks that there are people out there that would do pull that Sh_t on a fellow rx-7 owner.

Makes me want to go back to driving a beater. Theives don't bother you, cops don't see you, doesn't matter where you park...
