'88 n/a fresh rebuild. Engine is missing/bucking when accelerating towards 3k. I got all new tuneup parts, adjusted CAS and TPS. Can the CAS be screwed up even if the L & T are lined up? Sometimes the missing is accompanied by a strange chirping sound from under the hood like Roadrunner or a VW Beetle horn. What the hell is that?

I've read about power steering making this sound but what does it mean? I even moved the alarm siren, thinking the sparkplug wires were setting it off, but thats not it. I realize there are 2 problems here, the missing and the chirping. Help with either would be appreciated, Any1?

 

The power steering beep will be coming from under the dash, not in the engine compartment.

 

chirp like an actual bird sound could be a bad or going belt even if it looks good...

 

If I get rid of the stumbling, then the beeping/chirping should stop too. The noise only happens when the engine starts missing.

 

sounds like your trailing coil is miss firing then.
