did the coil just go bad? but even with that would one or the other get the engine started at least?

When the tack goes bad that usually means a bad trailing coil. I would source a replacement.

it should still start even with a bad trailing coil.. check your fuses. check for spark at your leading

i just tried it again and now it started....wtf

this is the second time this week it has done this.

i think there is something with the wiring harness.

Check your grounds. Especially to the coil pack and the main grounds...
