So I was takin My Engine Apart Today...

I was in the garage taking the engine apart because of a vacuum leak and i got to the LIM and took the gasket off and it was a 6 port gasket WTF. the car has a turbo on it and all the turbo 2 stuff. Looked closer and the LIM has been ported to look like the T2 one.

Can you successfully convert 13b engine to a BT?? Ill try an post picks later....

Wait, are you saying the previous owner put a turbo setup on the NA engine?

Yeah the engine is N/A but theres a turbo on it and the LIM is ported to just like the T2 LIM everything else is T2. Very Odd never seen this before I got the car non running but was told it ran for a week then just died.

Ah, ok. Yeah, you're better off buying another 13BT engine. Techincally, the rotor housings can be used for both. The only exception is the NA rotor housings has exhaust diffusers which you can grind out.

The irons you definitely should change since the BT is 4 port. The BT also has low comp rotors as well. Slight different in the front cover for which the BT front cover has an oil line.

I don't get it.
Omegared says it's a 1987 model.
von says it's a 1988 model.

Something stinks.

For $150 - If it has a title & 4 wheels - you're ahead.

A project - A part out - whatever..

Like JEC-31 asked, does it still have good compression, or any at all? Personally, if the car runs, and has good compression, I would try to get it running . If the car doesn't already have the following, go out and try to snag these parts and slap her together. 550 primaries, 720 secondaries, a warlboro or FD fuel pump, a FPR, a boost gauge, a custom 2.5" or 3" exhaust, a AFC, and maybe a starion front mount. Then just fabricate the lines and everything you need, and toss a good clutch in, and drive her. This is just what I would do, theres a lot to it, and its not easy, but, it at least you wouldn't have to get a TII motor.
