So I open the hood and the engine is on fire.

I'm telling you guys, if you haven't replaced your pulsation dampener... PLEASE DO IT!!!

Even after reading the horror stories on hear... I never bothered to get it replaced.

Well, I pull into my school parking lot, as I'm getting the book out the back, I see some smoke coming from the hood.

I pop it open, and the engine is on fire.

I ran into the school to get a fire extinguisher, when I came out, some guys had poured their water bottles all over and had put the fire out.

Some of the wires and hoses are melted...

Hopefully it wont cost too much to get it all fixed up.... I might just buy a TII engine.

Sucks to hear about that man. As you said, hopefully it won't be that much to replace the damaged parts.

i believe some of u guys are not swapping PD even after reading about possibility of fire

but i don`t understand how u could drive your cars without fire extinguiser withing reach of hand

i never had to deal with PD fire and all cars i work on have PD replaced with banjo bolt, but even after that i never drive without extinguisher behind my seat...

Well, its good nothing too bad happened. I've had experience with engine fires, but it was on an austin healey. I was in the car with my dad and smoke started coming throught the dash. Turned out the wiring harness caught on fire.

do you have to replace the 2 copper washers between the PD and the fuel rail? I just ordered a new PD and was wondering?
