Yup.

I was driving to work this morning and I heard this weird ''poof!'' just like when a cupler pops-off, but that wasn't it. I checked. And i was driving normaly.
Now the symptoms. The car will idle fine, sometimes....Meh?!?! And I have all power until it hits 3000rpm, then it sputters like a farting ***, and only when its under load. When in neutral, it can rev up fine like nothing is wrong.

It can t be a vaccum leak, because that doesn't make the car lose power and sputter over 3k rpm...What can it be? What made that poof!....?!

Its an S4 base with Tii swap, 720cc sec, RB downpipe and pre-silencer, FCD, and basic mods. The car has been running smooth ever since I made the swap (4 months) so it not something I did to the car. No mods have been made prior to it ******* up.

Found the problem. Weirdest **** I have seen.

It was a cupler.

The thing is, when the car starts, it pulls vacuum, so it sucks the cupler in place, when passed 3krpm, boost comes in and pushes it off, as soon as I let off the gas, it sucks it in places...and so on. Thats why I didn't see the poped-off cupler.

You need a different mind set with boost.
All those vac lines can now be pressure lines.
A big pack of those little black zip ties are you friend.

Boost is very seductive - have fun..
