So I have a street port now, but I need some info

Well, I just got my engine rebuilt and streetported. The exhaust is stock until the second precat. After that, the main cat is gone, cherry bomb, y-pipe, and mufflers. I have a cone air filter too.

What do I need to know about the streetport? I'm getting towards 900 miles so I recently started getting on it, which is simply amazing. I heard that the stock ECU cuts fuel at 7800 rpm. Also, I've heard that I might want to go with bigger injectors too. Anybody who has some info, please share.

if you go with an exhaust get some bigger injectors, like 500cc from RC, for primary and either 500or550 for secondary, the stock ECU cuts the fuel at 7600 on 86-88 models, but a street port makes power till ~9k rpm.

Get a header before you mess with the fuel. You're choking it with that manifold and precats.

I agree with that, I don't think you really feel the streetport till you open the exhaust all the way. And what do you get for an NA, instead of a FCD? Just get the S-AFC and some TII injectors or what? I know I was always told you don't need to upgrade anything with just a streetport.

with a street port using a free flowing exhaust yes, t2 injectors and an S-AFC, if its a stock exhaut, or close, you can use stock injectors, or 500cc, just a tad bigger

You've got 4x460's in there, I don't see a street port taxing them too bad?? Get a Walboro and an adjustable fpr and see how it goes then. Maybe possibly you might almost need some 550 secondaries...

Check out my sig for pretty much covering all the bases required for a streetport..If you want to go all the way.

4 550cc's are overkill right now, but I am putting a turbo in soon, then they'll be required.
The stock fuel system will be fine unless you start modding EVERYTHING else... (umm... like I realized I did when I looked at my bank account...)
Once ou start with the fuel system though, you should do everything.... injectors, pump, and DEFINATELY and s-afc for control- otherwise it'll be crappy.
It's amazing how one mods requires another...lead to another....need to do that now to notice a difference from this.....everything is tied together...

Header/Presilencer(s) and a decent mffler(s)
have your injectors cleaned and balanced

Stay that way since 550's and S-AFC is not worth the trouble.

isnt a cherry bomb glass packed. the heat your engine makes will kill that cherry bomb pretty quick wont it?

i heard it could take a day only for it to go.

fcturbo2: No thanks, I'm trying to keep the mods to a minimum until I get out of college or at least get a decent paying job.

13B2QuIcKNy: What were you driving at the track? I might be going soon, maybe we should meet up.

Grimlock: Well that cherrybomb's been on my car for almost 2 years, and it was on another rx7 for a while before that, so it was probably melted a long time ago.

Nah, don't remember. That's cool though, I'm going to run it soon and see what I can get before I put on the headers (well, I have to get them first). I want to see the immediate gain from before the port to after

You NEED A FREAKING HEADER!!!!!!! Remember give your engine at least 2,000 of breaking in.... Get bigger secondaries if you happen to go lean on secondaries at high RPM's you will loose you apex seals, then your housings and you might even put a big freaking hole in one of your rotors...
