Why in the hell would someone rebuild an N/A knowing that they will put in a TII engine in soon?

How much $$$? How many miles?

better off buying a turbo motor. That will cost less then rebuilding the cars current motor just to swap it out with a turbo

no dummy! i was saying should i just rebuild the NA motor, not rebuild it, then put it a turbo motor :P
anyways, the engine? i dunno how many miles, i guess i can call up this "kyle" fella again
he says the car still runs...
so how much would a turbo2 engine cost?
anyone know any shops in the san francisco bay area who will be willing to find me a motor? or maybe i can use the forum to find a motor...
well, at least someone to help me put in the motor, do the swappin and all that... i have car friends, but they aint that great with rotary, cuz im sure its a different kind of process.
so if i put in a turbo 2 engine
what other changes do i have to make?
tranny? exhaust? can i put a front mount intercooler?
do i get the pshweeee sound from the BOV :P
PIMP! kkk..

went to check it out today

the car is hella loud, cat is off or something, or unbolted or something... he said he'll get that fixed...
I got the VIN number... I'll post it up later to see if anyone can run a carfax for me?
the car runs, he's sellin it for $650
he also has a pretty immaculate condition 91 gxl with a blown motor, actually, no motor in it at all, he said i can take whatever parts from that....

I was lookin at the 89 and a lot of the body has been painted with some spraypaint, white, over the pearl white color... and it seems there is a lot of bondo work.. well, not alot, but, kinda dusturbing

he offered to switch hoods w/ the good condition one, and maybe one of the fenders...

i just dont want to be painting over bondo, since i will be repainting the car....

he will also give me the aero mirrors from the 91 and if we figure out how to do it, he wil give me the stronger motor from the 91 moonroof and swap it w/ the 89

what else.... uhm
also, i remember i once saw a RX7 enthusiasit article about what to look out for when buying a 7.. i think it was in some tuner magazine.. maybe like, car and driver or soemthing... anyone know?

well, so to sum it up, an immaculate parts car w/ no motor, everything to swap into a kinda bondo'd car...
should i just swap the motor? advice please! thanks

Err, I"d just swap the motor. I'd also check around underneith of both to see what the frame looks like. Does the 91 have a title?

the 91 does not have a title it was lost, cuz the origional owner was gonna donate the car, mailed the title, and it got lost in the mail...
i was thinkin, buy the parts car, and get a motor in it!
but then yeah.... ok, i will check the frame...
oh i got the VIN numbers!

89 GTU: JMIFC3314k0701490
91 GXL: JMIFC331XM0903592

I dont know, i might have mixed up some zeroes and o's
u know, cuz they look alike :P

the 89 GTU is running, the actual car he is selling... $650 bucks for a running pretty ok shape car

the 91 GXL is a parts car, immaculate body.. im swapping some of the panels, and stuff... no title, so i dont want the car.. just the parts

so if anyone could help me out w/ the vin checks... i will also go post this in the vin check i guess.. k thanks!

You can get a replacement title. Check out the DMV site for the forms.

so you want to rebuild the N/A motor but you dont want to rebuild the N/A motor, not rebuild it but you want to rebuilt it then put a turbo motor in........im lost.....and if you really want a pshweee sound from underneath the hood they have these speakers u hook u underneath your car to make the noise.....its supposed to add something like 20hp at the wheel.....but i think you have to be running slicks to feel the difference
