I've tried *three* sunroof motors and they all have a hard time pushing the thing. I use a hex key to move it while it's in the car... It has *SUCH A HARD TIME* popping up from its resting position. The sunroof needs to be pushed and prodded to move. And then even after soaking the rails in 3in1 and WD 40, it hardly shows any improvement. It slides easier. Kind of. Kind of. It does not come out easier.

At this point I'm ready to uninstall the assembly and just rebuild the whole damn thing. But searching for a write up has been extremely frustrating. I need to know what I have to do to fix this problem. And what to use. And where to buy it.

Man think of it this way. Sunroof motors, tracks, and cables are normal wear items frequently used. Any part you pull from another car is minimum 11 model years old...how good of a chance do you stand of finding a perfectly operating one? EVERY sunroof I have ever seen on a 2gen needed help to work, if it worked at all. This is one of those things, to me anyway, if you're that worried and stressed about it, youre gonna have to break down adn do it right, with new parts.
