I am planning on getting a tii rx7 however I plan on attending college in colorado next year so I was just wondering with proper snow tires and careful driving are there any worries of driving it during the winter

 

Yes. Period. It is a lightweight, rwd sprotscar. The windows fog easily and the car hates ultra cold weather. That being said, I live in upstate NY and have hella winters here and it gets to 0*F or colder. I haven't really driven it much in the winter though because last winter it sat but survived. This spring I painted it and put tires on it. Not that the paint will help but i put on B/S Potenza G009s. With proper inflation, all season tires will suffice. If you get actual Snow tires, though, it will make all the difference in the world though and you'll feel like a rally racer. Y'know, with just the right grip when you need it. I'd say in CO you need to worry more about keeping the snow off it for extended periods and just getting it freaking started as long as you've got snow tires.

skinny tires, or snow tires work very well. When my t2 was pretty stock, i was rocking some shitty 205 size tires. It did suprisingly well in the snow. Once I put on coilovers, and went to Fd wheels, with kumho mx tires, i couldnt even get out of a parking space

 

They're not a very good winter car, get a FWD or similar beater.

I would guess you're probably going to CU in Boulder? Don't worry too much about "Winter Driving". The best kept secret in the nation is how mild winter is here on the front range. I drive my '87TII all year round.
Now that isn't to say we don't get any snow, but between now and spring, you'll be driving on dry roads over 75% of the time.
I am getting a pair of Bridgestone Blizzak LM-25 snow tires next week and will let you know how they work. I work in Grand Junction and drive over the continental divide every week. Right now, I'm driving on the plain Blizzak and they truly SUCK. I hate the squirmy feeling of these things and made Big-O tires get the LM25s to replace them.

Anyway, welcome to Colorado and I'll update you when I try out the new snow tires.
