snapped TII intake manifold bolt
Ive snapped my TII intake manifold bolt
The 4.75 inch long bolt in the middle of the manifold that bolts the UIM to the LIM.
Anybody know where to get a replacement? Local hardware stores arent carrying such a specific size bolt.

Any fastener store. It's just a long metric bolt, M8 if I recall. You may have to get one slightly longer and cut it down. Check the yellow pages under "fasteners".

mazda dealership is $9 for me
apparently he told me theres only 13 original bolts left in the country LOL
9 days for it to be ordered in.
size is M8 1.25 120mm long
I checked the local mom and pops store, they dont carry the metric ones at those lengths....only standard *sigh* damn you standard size. Found one at Pepboys but its 20mm short.

I will paypal someone $5 USD if they take a picture of themselves at a generic fastener store carrying an M8.125 flange bolt 120mm long, interchangeable with the stock s5 bolt. You must take pics with a dial indicator or other accurate measuring device showing that it is in fact the proper dimensions.
Seriously.

Another alternative, why not call Atkins or other rebuilders and simply ask them. I bet they'd sell one and mail it to you.
I could get a M8 x140 SHCS, grade 8 equivalent, through work, or our brick and mortar local supplier, and use this thing called a washer.
McMaster has them also, just look down the list.

I always get my bolts from them. You can walk out with all the accessory bolts for like 15-20 bucks.

I bought a couple extra allen type head bolts in 120mm when I did the other car up.
I also bought the longer ones to allow to do an FD upper.
This is from a Fastener type store I go to when I am Absolutely Stuck!
So,ya,,50% of one, half of the other,,it is not readily available but can be had!

Are metric fasteners really that hard to find in the US? Didn't the world standardize on metric many, many years ago?

The world did....sadly, the US didnt.
not really hard to find, the small fasteners are easy enough to find in hardware stores. In the hardware stores in my area the metric fastener section is a small fraction compared to the US sizes.

my last errand was to find some 8x1.25 bolts and nuts for my camber plates, i wanna say in grade 16? something strong. i found the bolts, in a bag of 100 for like $8, the nuts? nope. they just didn't exist locally, in a grade that matched the bolts.....
for a 120mm long 8x1.25 bolt, the dealership one is basically the only choice. here.
our local go-to fastener store is family owned and has been around for about 50 years. Their metric bolt selection is about as broad as what you would find at Home Depot or some other big chain, and they are not going to special order you something like that unless you buy a box of 50.
Here's something interesting. Most of the metric threaded bolts have basically a standard-sized hex. So an M8 will typically have a 1/2" head which is 13mm. And most of the thread pitches are pretty coarse like you would expect on a standard threaded bolt.

Seems like I could make some money by selling all stainless engine hardware kits.
