Snapped BAC bolt!

So yeah, snapped the top bolt that holds the BAC to the intake. Now it wont sit tight enough for my car to start, I need to fix this like...immediately.

Any ideas how I can fix/ temp fix this?

take the bac off, and then take some pliers, and twist it off. go to lowes, and get a bolt that fits the exact thread specs.

if it broke off flush then you'll have to remove the manifold and drill the hole out or something

hm, dont know how to explain this properly but the threads arnt in the manifold.

Its a threaded post sticking out of the manifold and you put a nut on there to hold the bac on.

should be a stud, try to take off the bac, put two nuts on and tighen them together (if there is room) and then unsrew the stud from the inside nut, if this doesn't work you may have to cut it flush drill a small hole in it and get an easy out, your last option will be to drill it out to a larger size and tap it, then drill the hold larger in the BAC and get a bolt that will fit, or maybe drill it to same size and use a helicoil ( i think that is what its called)

If it is sticking out, get a hand held dremel and a cutting wheel, and cut a slot into the top of the bolt where the hex head used to be. Then, take it out with a flat head screw driver.

If you do get the stud out, make sure the replacement bolt is not too long - your don't want it bottoming out in the hole in the IM.

Good luck,

Appreciate all the help, guys. I do hope its just a stud and not part of the intake itself.

the stud unscrews. fallow my original statement.

take some plier or some vice grips. grip that sucker tight, and twist it off.

then get your butt to lowes, and get a bolt the same dimension ( thread dimmesnsions) and bolt that ****** back on.

The two nut trick is how I recently removed a broken stud. Apply PB blaster if you can to the threaded area and try this. It's so easy to do, it's worth the time to try rather than jumping to something hard, but more likely to work right away. You might get it out, just try it.

Did just that, worked like a charm. Thanks a bunch.
