smoking problem

well, the other day i raced with this car from second gear shifting right at or a little before redline up until 4th gear. i let my car cool down after that.

the next day i start it up...its fine no smoke. but when its warmed up and i get to a stop, after a while it would start to smoke. its not too bad but it is noticeable.

when driving around, its fine. no smoke whatsoever. only when im at a stop or parked somewhere.

my car is a 90TII w/ S5 Jspec. i swapped turbos with my old motor when i did the engine swap so maybe my turbo crapped out on me? cuz i would rev to 5k and no smoke would shoot out.

I am also running on premix with partially fouled plugs. ( yea i know its stupid but i have to wait to the next check to pick some up)

so any ideas on the smoke? this was never doing it before this happened. and also i raced like this before. im just praying its not a control ring.

Could just be that at idle its a lot of premix burning. When ur driving theres more air and fuel to dillute the premix. Thats just my guess. Whats it smell like? And color of smoke?

yea i guess that could be the case. i mean i dont really measure it when its time to add. i just go by what I think is best. hah oh well...lesson learning.

the smoke is kinda white....but i can't tell if it has a blue hue to it or not. smells a little sweet though. and i do have to check up on my radiator fluid alot. gotta refill it every couple of days.

Just keep an eye on it for now, try to identify it. If it gets progressively worse, then we'll start the "rebuild" threads, lol...

That sweet smell usually indicates coolant burning in the combustion cycle. Which means u might have a leaky coolant seal. Is your omp and oil injection system still on the motor?

well just went driving around for a while. and i got a good whiff of that smoke.... definately doesnt smell sweet. so i guess that means its oil.

i forgot to mention an important factor that may contribute. i installed a 3inch TID pipe using abs plastic. i got it off Scott89T2's page. (very informative btw) www.1300cc.com
ever since i installed that, i noticed my idle would rest at a steady 1300rpm. but today while i was sitting in traffic, i would sorta ride the clutch so my rpms would drop down to OEM idle 700-750rpm and it i saw no smoke!

so my guess is that what RotaryWeaponSE7EN said that im burning too much premix. thats caused by the high idle.

yep i still have my OMP stuff in the motor.

Try adjusting the TPS to turn the idle down.
