smoking from headers
smoking from headers
ok i put new tranny fluid in, when flushing the system i accidently pulled the wrong line of and when i turned the car on i has tranny fluid all over the engine compartment. i cleaned up what i could but there was still some left on the cover for the headers and so on. i also put some of that muffler putty stuff on some of my welds so insure they ar sealed on the echaust i had built. my question is after spilling the tranny fluid the last few days it really smokes under the hood . i turn the car off and it looks like the car over heating when i open the hood its coming from the erea of the headers.
now i dont think its my tranny cause it shifting fine, car is not overheating and runs fine too. any ideas of what it could be?
would the fluid really take that long to burn off? i sence having it spilled the car has only been driven perhaps lets say 15 min one day 30 min yesterday and 30 min this morning.
and the smoke smells horrible.
sure hope its the fluid burning off .
anyone have any input?

wow a month ,
i wasnt aware it took that long ot burn off. perhaps sprying some water on ther will help? looks kind of weird when i turn the car off and smoke comes out of the hood . i dont want someone thinking my car is on fire aand accidently calling the fire squad.
that would not be good.
