Talking Smoke Screen

As alot of our high mileage rx7's do, mine smokes at startup then stops, then passed 5500 rpm or so billows of smoke comes out, kinda like when you do the atf treatement, it happens really bad when I declerate or drop it in to 2nd while going 60 mph and it creates a smoke screen affect, (yes I can't see any thing in my rearvieww except smoke) Anyone else have this problem? oh yeah I'm on 161,xxx miles on my car

I believe a common test is to warm up the car then rev to 4000rpms for 30 seconds; if it smokes after 30 seconds, you have bad seals.

We got a 7 thats doing the same thing. As long as you keep the revs below 3000-4000 its fine, and as soon as you hit it hard, it smokes so bad its amazing. Wonder whats causing that..

Anyone know?

Oil pressure raises with Rpms so when the car reaches a higher rpm the oil seals must withstand more pressure. As far as the water seals go; I have no idea why they would be effected differently at higher rpms.
