Unhappy smoke and no start

i posted before that i thought the smoke was comin from the starter but it's coming from the passenger side of the engine,a wire on the intake manifold were the air control valve is. theres two wires and its comng from the left one. it doesnt start not even turning over theres nothin, the wire just heats up and starts smokin? anyone herd of this before or kno how to fix it?

Stuck engine? All that juice got no where to go? Can you turn the engine by hand???

you should probably start by unhooking the connector of the wires that are smoking. probably old nasty harness insulation thats deteriorated and shorted.

then start w/ the basic no-start stuff, flooded? no spark? things of that nature.

i think its somthin with the starter because theres nothin when i turn it. no cranking nothin, n then that wire heats up all red and starts smokin the plastic coating off of it.

i tried looking up in a haynes manual what that wire goes too but it doesnt say. i wonder if it leads to the starter?

Something is grounded, or shorted out. Can you follow the wire down and see if anything unplugged?

i did and it leads to the harness in the frontof the engine

i just went and tried to start it, it smoked then the 2nd try it started up just fine?
