Unhappy smoke and no start

i posted before that i thought the smoke was comin from the starter but it's coming from the passenger side of the engine,a wire on the intake manifold were the air control valve is. theres two wires and its comng from the left one. it doesnt start not even turning over theres nothin, the wire just heats up and starts smokin? anyone herd of this before or kno how to fix it?

you should probably start by unhooking the connector of the wires that are smoking. probably old nasty harness insulation thats deteriorated and shorted.

then start w/ the basic no-start stuff, flooded? no spark? things of that nature.

Something is grounded, or shorted out. Can you follow the wire down and see if anything unplugged?

Did you look in the FSM? It's on fc3s.org in the how-to section.
