Smoke and burning smell in engine bay
Smoke and burning smell in engine bay
My '88 turbo FC sits in my driveway undriven, so I usually start her up to let her idle and rev a bit. Today, after I let the engine run for a few minutes, white smoke started coming out of the engine bay, and it had a burning smell. I can't pinpoint the exact location where it's coming from, but I recorded a video of it on my phone.

After it smokes for a minute or two, the smoking stops. I don't see any signs of anything under the car. Does anyone have any idea what it could be? I'd like to find out what the issue is before serious damage occurs.

Easy to tell if it's Magic Smoke...original JDM Magic Smoke smells like wasabi and anime, it's quite distinctive.
We have plenty of Magic Smoke here in CO, if you need a refill.

This happens a lot and is a very generic issue. Unless you can find a visible leak, could just be condensation burning off since it doesn't seem to last very long.
jackchild is right though, ensure your magic smoke is full or else!!

Thanks for the responses guys.
It smelled like possibly burning fluid or rubber--didn't smell electrical.
I'll try to start again and see if it smokes again. I'll look closer to see if there's any leaks.
