Smaller front tires?

Is it a good idea to run thinner tires in the front and wider tires in the rear? Would it effect handling? I would think it would improve acceleration. Right now I have 205/60/15 all around. And I was thinking about 185/65/15s in front. I have 15x6.5 wheels. The 205/60/15s are 8.43 inches wide and I don't think that's neccessary for the front tires.

the smaller the tire up front, the easier it is to break it loose (to put it REALLY simply). If you shove big ones in the back and small up front, it'll be good for dragging (good traction in back and low resistance up front), however it'll hurt the handling (understeer with skinnies). If you want a good medium, people tend to run 225's in back and 205's up front. That's what I have. If you want more traction and less resistance (for short distances), then you can under inflate the rear and over inflate the front by a few psi. That'll change the "footprint" of the tires and end up giving better traction in back and less resistance up front.
Basically it depends on what you want to do with it. Dragging, I'd say go wider in back and smaller in front, but for ease of rotating and installing (cause I had mine installed backwards but a dumbass shop), you might wanna stick with the 205's.
