small leak in clutch line for a while now sticking to the floor?

ok i have had a leak in my clutch for a while now but in the process of saving money i have been filling the clutch resivoir up every week or two depending on the amount leaking.... now the clutch is going to the floor and not coming back SOMETIMES..... i filled it up again and bled it the best i could with it sticking so much and that helped but did not fix it... did the leak just suddenly bust open? would that cause it... otherwise why would the clutch go to the floor so bad and not come back? i thought a bad clutch for a min but the clutch seems to feel fine when it does not stick though... what else could it be? thanks in advance

bad master or slave cylinder, more than likely it's the master. Those are fun to get out, enjoy! (well, not as bad as some, but you'll spend a lot of time with your head where your feet belong.

Your seals finally gave out on ya- rebuild or replace either the slave cylinder or master cylinder, or both. Personally, my slaves have always gone out before my master ever did...

You can get rebuild kits for both for under $20 at your auto parts store. If upon disassembly, you find that the cylinder bores are rusty, replace them. Any other crusty crap in there can be cleaned with strips made from scotchbrite pads...

lol I replaced my master in 10 minutes in the sun here in AZ. No problem.

30bux for a new slave cylinder and 75 for master at mazdatrix.
18 for the stainless steel clutch line.

Me like my setup

Oh yeah. You know that brake fluid does eat paint right? It's dripping some where........

could be a bad clutch line as well. you could've run too low on fluid (from the leak), causing the clutch pedal to stick to the floor.
