SLow reving used car

This guy made me a deal on an 87 Rx7 in a car lot since he knows me. He said he'd sell it for 400 but for the obvious external problems the only other problem he knew of was the fact that it was reving slow, or that it kinda had to "build up" power. He said he had some guys lookin at it that claimed they new what was wrong with it. That the cat was clogged or one of the coils was bad. I really want this car seein as how my last 87 blew an apex seal and I aint gotta RX at the moment. What do yall think? Is he right? Should I buy?

well, it's 400 so why not..it might be a small problem like...a leaky air intake, air cleaner clogged, plugged exhaust system, accel cable loose, incorrect engine timing, a defective waste gate (turbo). small things like that...but it could also be something big like...the 6 port induction system, but hell. it's still driveable right? Take it up...it's an RX-7 they all have souls....not many cars do

Do a compression check first before you buy it.
