should have painted the bumpers, handles, mirrors, bonnet scoop and mouldings off the car if you were so worried about taking the handle seal off.

I was about to say the same as ben. It's going to look like **** around those areas because you were too lazy to take the mouldings and such off, going to crack around all the edges.

what does bumpers have to do with the handle seal? handles were SEPERATED from the door SOO that the paint would not touch both the handle and door.. so no paint would make that seal. , mirrors were taken off as well as ALL moldings touching body.. did you notice the top missing? why do you think we did that?? and the bonnet scoop.... that WAS painted off the car. if you notice. that hood wasnt on the car to begin with..

its going to look like ****... hmm.. MAYBE thats why i took the Rubber seal off. ohh and remember that box of MOLDINGS, Weatherstripping that i also took off.. now why did i do that... oh right, cuz i did not want it to look like ****. and they were covered by the MACCO $450 paint job THE PREV owner did to the car.

haha the only thing bridged on this car would be the housings on the engine

i wonder why im being called LAZY, and being flammed on.. Again...

i restored this car BACK to Original color.
I Painted a Turbo Hood to Original color.
I painted all trim, black, including the duct under the wipers, and trim around the front winshield.

all with $300 in supplies, including the Coronas

heres some CLOSER PICS, actually you can see the rubber seal looks great! before it was painted White along with other moldings and trim. and lights.

i really removed the trim so you can see.. its not "bridged" to the door.

ahh the sexiness of that turbo hood.

change the resolution to HD for a better view. this is without wax on the car. just rinsed her with some water.

rubbing strips not top door moldings is what i was referings to that should have been taken off. sorry i didnt notice the change in bonnets. but bumpers, always are removed for painting in our shop, not so at the indian shop down the road where absolutely nothing is removed and they dont even have a booth. Its just better practice. i just couldnt understand the point in removing the handle pulling off the seal then putting it back in to paint it? just put it on a trestle. im not saying you have done a bad job in fact judging by photos it looks fairly good, just things to keep in mind if you paint it again or any other car for that matter. advise not flaming

well i apreciate your advise, but this is a backyardr paintjob. were not a shop, we have no booth, an not enough room or a place to rest the bumpers. we make do with wat we have, an i think we did a pretty good job...

as far as takin off bumpers,, on my 69 nova, that is wat we are doig, id show you the pics but this is no chevy nova forum. lol but i took , fenders bumpers, rad support, everything! so i understand the concept of doing it right,

the major question of the project was.. how do we do a 3 DAY paintjob (i needed the car as it was my DD to deep san francisco.) and yes i drove it to and from work, from 5pm till 2 in the morning with no top! love that heater! haha

and also, New Daddy is going to Re-Paint the car when he gets his body kit, fix all the imperfections (aka those ****** dust mites, bugs, etc) so keep in touch!

thanks for you replies

I can't wait to see more pics of the nova. Orange-reds aren't my cup of tea but if you're restoring it, I'd like to see pics how the fresh paint turn out.
