I still would for the final coat...you can wet sand dust off of the primer, but I wouldn't want to have to do that with the final coat.

nice build, if you are doing a full paint job and are capable of body work you should have shaved the antenna hole, trunk emblem holes, and third brake light like what im doing. just my opinion on what i think looks clean, i understand its not for everyone.

You said it was too cold the primer wasn't drying? Well you definitely should have waited to get throw the base coat on. That's what happens when you paint on cold metal / cold temperatures. You need to re-do it, wet sand it back down, and get a blow heater or something to warm the metal up. The metal needs to be warm before applying primer / paint. Its not going to be able to bond.

what kind of paint did you use? if it was cheap then thats the reason for a lot of coats to get full coverage.

we waited a day in-between each spray. Meaning, primer was done, waited a day for the first 3 base coats, we then sanded with 400 I believe, next day sprayed the other 3 base coats, and 4 coats of clear.. that was yesterday. Today were wet sanding with 1000, then 1500. Pics will come in the hour.

he used omni which is a cheaper ppg product.

And the picture of the hood that shows the transparency is why you should always prime the entire car the same color.
