Slight stumbling hesitiation back

Ok, I posted about this a few weeks ago, my 88 t2's hesitation problem...

I ran some fuel cleaner through, put new plugs and fuel filter (which was really gunked up) in, and payed for a 'tune up' at a rotary place. My low rpm (from around 2000 to 3000) and mild throttle stumbling that sometimes happened then dissapeared, but it now looks like its coming back. My best guess is that it's fuel related, because putting cleaner through and new fuel filter fixed it. But I'd have assumed if it was fuel related I'd have more trouble at high rpm and load situations? The way it only happens occasionally (ie, a few times in a half hour commute to work) has me thinking electrical too, so I really don't know... I have tested the tps, and it appears ok.

If anyone can suggest a further order of attack it would be most appreciated... otherwise I guess I'll just fork out for injector cleaning, re-ground and solder the ecu, and all that biz...

Thanks for any help.

Charlie

My two thoughts - A) add some ground wires under the hood (there's info on this all over the place) and B) maybe you have a vacuum leak (shitty idle but she's okay at higher revs.)

Good luck with it. Nothing feels better than when you finally nix a long standing prob with your 7 (like I did today.)

I have the same problem..I can't figure it out either...Mine only happens for the first 20 mins of my 40 min commute, then it is fine...I was thinking fuel pump, but that wouldnt go away after the car really warmed up...I am going to call Mazcare and see what they say...I will post any Info I get on here...

ok, i have a similar problem but mine is mostly affected at high rpm although i can sometimes feel it at 3k my problem appears to be the boost pressure sensor try testing it. or run a ground from it to the water filler neck.

Ok, well I've rigged up the led tester for the ecu on my series 4 t2, first time testing I got an o2 sensor code, but could this just be because the car was started warm? ie the engines all warm but o2 sensor isn't or something? The stumbling seems to only occur when the car is warm.

I just took it out for a drive with a passenger observing the led's, no codes were reported at all during the half hour run... do grounding issues result in codes being reported or not?

I have something like this, it's on and off, and it only happens when I'm first starting off in first gear.
