slight power loss/shaking above 7500 RPMs

It seems like my car has started to drop off sometimes above 7K (usually you feel a slight decrease in acceleration, but lately sometimes feels like I'm getting slammed forward with a power loss), and that it sometimes shakes at 7500 and above (instead of revving smoothly to 8K)...

Any ideas as to what could cause this?

Perhaps I need to check my timing (for the 50000th time), or do I need to clean my plugs again?

My mileage seems to have dropped lately, too... to about 20 MPG on the highway, instead of 24.

degraded fuel delivery? you're trying to dump quite a bit of fuel at such high RPM, any hindrances there will be exaggerated the more fuel you try to deliver.

Hmm... well my timing was a bit retarded... although I kind of doubt it would have caused those slight hesitations.

Car pulls plenty hard till 7K though (hell, the 8K redline was basically a marketing gimmick more than a performance boost).

Problem fixed by adjusting the TPS... I might have adjusted it WAAAY off last time.
